If you want a college example check out Baker Mayfields story. Freshman walk on to Heisman Trophy. Not saying Luke Carney can do this but his background as a FOUR time state champion in TEXAS football seems to merit at least a look.

I’m not sure of Rickie’s high school career but it worries me that he was in a very good program before he came here and looks really bad mechanically. I don’t want to destroy the kid. But this is no longer a “ young man doing his best while dealing with a demanding academic schedule “. He’s getting paid like $500,000.  It”s now professional football and we’re being asked to invest in the program. Gotta call it like we see it. Carney deserves a chance.
