How did it go after halftime?  Oh yeah, Angeli fumbled.  Seemed like they could score at will and refrained from doing so to not give future opponents anything else to look at.  They also were prevent on defense, which was great experience for Angeli.  The point is that Angeli against Tennessee / UConn was not the Angeli against Colgate/ Clemson.  Strangely, he seemed to... get better... as he got more PT.  Who would have thought?

Collins does not have Angeli's clearly higher floor or perhaps, at this point, even as high a ceiling.  But, like Angeli, he may get better as he gets more PT.  If he stops getting better, Fran will stop giving him PT.  But, as a coach, I trust him to pull the plug when he realizes it is proper considering everything.

And, as for beating SMU kicking FGs... nobody is saying try to win 15-14.  But with an offense struggling to score, you cannot miss scoring opportunities that give you the lead.  Duke fumbled 5 times against Illinois. Maybe Jennings sprains his ankle and they do not even up scoring much.  What is wrong with taking 1 or 2 FGs???
