If you're in Buffalo today and trying to figure out what to do while waiting for the game, I strongly recommend visiting the Butterfly Conservancy on the Canadian side of Niagara Falls. It is a spectacular exhibition about butterflies about 40 minutes from downtown Buffalo which features huge domed "greenhouse" where you walk among thousands of butterflies and other creatures in a tropical rain forest.

I learned about it from my random seat mate on JetBlue on Wednesday. I then found it on line and got directions via both Mapquest and GPS. Very easy to find. About 15 minutes north of Horse Shoe Falls on Canadian side.

Áfter visiting it, I recommend driving south on Niagara Parkway to The Keg bar on 9th floor of Embassy Suites in Niagara Falls (Canada) where you can enjoy spectacular views of the falls while drinking adult beverages and watching the NCAAs on TV.

PS: You need your passport to enter and leave Canada.

With a designated driver, of course. ;)

I got kicked out of that place as a child for repeatedly touching the butterflies. I guess that's frowned upon or something.

CTO...or any others: Anyone cross the border? Can you share what time you crossed, what bridge and your wait? I ask as I think the Rainbow Bridge will work best for me on the CMU road trip in September. Trying to get confirmation. Thanks

If you're driving to Michigan via Canada, your best bet is the Queenston-Lewiston Bridge.

If you live in a border state, your enhanced drivers license is all you need

We are planning on heading over around dinner time on a Friday. Is that still the case...a local Buffalo guy told me to take the Rainbow bridge instead.

Hmm, not sure about that - you'd get stuck with all of the Niagara Falls tourist traffic, which would likely be significant on a Friday night

I stayed at the embassy suites about 5 years ago, had many drinks at the keg bar. Our room was on the 17th floor I think, with an amazing few of the falls. It was pretty cool.

Thanks for the heads up Joyce. Was looking for something to do with the Mrs. today. Was in Niagara Falls Ontario yesterday visiting the Falls, casino, with lunch at the Hard Rock Cafe, where I watched the Duke game. Went back today to see the butterflies. Fascinating place. Really enjoyed it. Thanks again.

Stop at Duty Free - you can buy a carton of cigarettes for like $17, and sell them here for $983. Something like that, my math isn't so great. Either way, you'll make $$$$$$$$!

Stopped at Duty Free both days. Stocked up on my Alexander Keith's Premium White.
