That's what our program has been. 
 
Some years have been better, and some have been worse. 
 
In the 125 years of SU Football history, we've had only SIX seasons with double digit wins, and you were lucky enough to have been on campus for 2 of them (my brother attended 88-92, I attended 81-85, but at least I had Nebraska :D).
 
We had a good run, but we couldn't sustain it over an extended period of time. Too many strikes against us:

[*]We're not a state funded Land Grant school
[*]Small alumni base (and too few alums living within 100 miles of the Dome)
[*]We're in a part of the country that doesn't produce a lot of Div 1 talent
[*]We're in a part of the country that really doesn't care about college football
