Being the HC is more than enough. If he wants to be a co-OC fine let him, agree or suggest plays before they go out to the QB . But also being a ST coach is too much Dr, Gross should insist on hiring a dedicated person for this task. One who has excellent experience in Div 1 football Skip the NFL entirely . a totally different animal.;)

You are entirely correct! As much as I like and admire Marrone, the blame for the botched coverage of the special teams has to be laid on his doorstep, since he insisted on taking over that area of responsibility (ST) along with being HC. If we had better ST play last year, we would have gone bowling for sure! And then another win on Saturday snatched out of our grasp largely due to ST play. I for one feel that the fans and more importantly the players deserve an effective full-time special teams coach.

So we can't blame the punter for over kicking his coverage ala Eagles Giants game two years back?

No!:bang: If you note ther was noone covering the rightt sideline area from the perspective of the return player. Our PR players can't go 5 yards before they go down. There is also no blocking scheme being set up for kick returns EVER!!

Same, but it may be a cost thing. Coaching salaries are shooting up, but SU football hasn't been making a ton of money, and we are undeniably underfunded.
