Risky, of course, but you have to take a chance on talent. Look at Chip Kelly! He was coaching at New Hampshire of all places…New Hampshire…before Oregon hired him. They recognized his talent. Look how fast he made things happen. There are other Chip Kelly's out there. Shafer made the decision to surround himself with his coaching buddies. His job is on the line. Will these "friends" serve him well? Only time will tell.
