I'm over Shafer. I can't live with his in game management

He leaves Dungey in the game late during a blowout. Then the kid almost gets killed on a hit and goes to the locker room. I want an answer .

Plus, all the other gaffes that lost us games
"Well, there's no quit in our kids. Lot of fire. He didn't want to come out because he feels if the clock's running he should be on the field. How do you say no to a young man like that?"

Or something like that.

it just doesn't get better. I really like the guy. But, he doesn't learn

X's and O's are one thing. But as I said in the game thread, when the well-being of your potential 4 year starter at QB is not of paramount importance in a blowout, then you have abdicated your top responsibility as a coach. I really was pissed when Dungey got hurt.

Inexcuseable and disgraceful.

I don't want an answer. I don't deserve an answer.

(I know the answer).

It sounded like you were having problems finding the game on TV or the Internet earlier today. It seems you were able to find it after all.

Sorry you found a way to watch. I really am.:(Oh Lord

I'm furious right now. I don't care that we lost ( well I do), but leaving Dungey in? I'm pissed

There is 2 other issues here:
  • BECAUSE Dungey can leave himself vulnerable, I would argue getting some more reps for an effective backup (remember he led us to our "best" loss against LSU) is important when a game is over. Fine, he's a walk-on. The kid is pretty good.
  • Dungey had a brutal day and needed to be saved from himself. I would have pulled him earlier in the 4th quarter and let him watch the rest of the game with a headset from the sideline.
Shafer doesn't seem to have a feel of what is really going on with his own team.

The answer might be what Mark Coyle thinks about this latest opportunity to get a win and how badly some of the units performed on both sides of the ball. If he comes out thinking everything is going to fine, we need another A D. I don't think thats going to happen. This game was an opportunity for Shafer to show that his team is close to turning the corner. He and the tean failed to perform wel on multiple fronts.

The answer is that Shafer is in over his head.

What Coyle chooses to do with that information is up to him.

Post of the day!

You've come a long way from 3-0!
