...on our chances with Thomas Bryant. What am I missing here?
The NCAA was allowing us to postpone the 10 scholarship limit to the 2016-2017 season because we had 7 guys coming back, (Coleman, Okoboh, McCullough, Roberson, Gbinioje, Cooney and Joseph), and four commits, (Diagne, Lydon, Richardson and Howard), which would give us 11 players and put us over the limit. Rather than telling one fo the commits we had no scholarship for them due to the NCAA penalty, we could star the penalty the enxt year, when Gbinije and Cooney would have graduated and we'd have only 9 guys. That gave us an opening for Bryant, who could be a 12th guy for 2015-2016 and the 10th guy in 2016-2017.
But then McCullough declared for the draft, which means we have only 10 guys next year and no longer have the option of postponing the penalty. therefore, there's no scholarship for Bryant.
The only way we could get him is if someone else leaves to reduce us to 9 scholarship players or if the NCAA lessens the penalty on appeal, allowing us to have more scholarship guys. Other than that, forget it.
What have I got wrong?
