Some may not agree but this was a good performance by our guys tonight. Clutch shot after clutch shot for two halves in a rowdy environment. Jimmy was working the refs hard and with good reason.

All of our guards played big tonight. Scoop with a great floor game tonight, picked his spots. Dion and Brandon w clutch shots all game. And MCW is feeling comfy in his skin, look out.

We clearly missed Baye down low, Rak just doesnt bring the intensity tho he shows some flashes. Fab with a few tricky finishes down low, long jumper, and had a decent night with position D.

Kris was pretty much Kris, they zoned and thats not his D to shine against, thankfully it is the D that makes Thickburger and James light up. CJ was EXCELLENT tonight. The guy is smooth and poised and just a treat to watch. James hit a big 3 when we needed it.

Providence came to win and we played with grit and just wouldnt allow them to. Feeling good to be Orange.

Lets get revenge on Marquette! WDO!

Good post. They gave us some punches and we responded. Good recap

The thing I like is that our D did not come through, so we had to score in the half court, and we did. Providence is suppose to be a much improved defensive team, but I didnt they looked all that good. Still, we scored a lot of half court points, more probably than we have all year.

This team has a tendency to score in half court when they need to. Its good to see.

Good summary. I thought it was an especially good game for Triche. He seems to start games slowly but he really turned the game in the second half and was the key player in our run. He is such an efficient player. He doesn't make flashy plays but is fundamentally so sound and his decision making is terrific.

Fab also had a very sweet high low bounce pass he squeezed through. The dude has skills.

The depth and diversity of the Syracuse team was on full display tonight. They made key plays when they were needed. Last years team would not have handled the adversity tonight in the same fashion that the team did tonight. As mentioned above, the guard play was stellar and it is really nice to see that we now have a team which features multiple players who can 1. Hit a 3 when needed. 2. Take it to the hoop when needed.

There were quite a few unforced errors and turnovers tonight which, frankly, would hurt us against a top flight team. Kris reverted to his last year tendency to dribble into double and triple teams and picked up the charge. The looping cross court pass with about 3 minutes left was a head scratcher for sure and resulted in a turnover. Veteran Sr. players just flat out should know better than that. Fortunately the level of talent and the great mix of this team tends to act as a buffer for the errors and mistakes that are made and their ability to score in bunches usually is sufficient to stave off the white knuckle effect we've grown so accustomed to accompany most Cuse BE games. Interestingly... the line was 13 1/2. How do they know that??????

The team played very well on the offensive end. Triche was great tonight making big play after big play and shooting the lights out. His early 2nd half explosion with 3 straight 3's opened the game up. DW, Scoop, KJo, even MCW all made big shots as did CJ. It's a good thing cause the defensive intensity was lacking tonight for the first time this year.

I'm sorry but I was getting a bit white knuckley last night ... but every time PC made a run the kids cam back and answered. D was a tad suspect tonight ... but that is going to happen in the BE b/c all the teams are familiar with the
2-3. I was surprised that JB didn't throw a press on them ... PC was very lucky IMO. They haven't been able to throw up a 3 all year... until they play SU.

I thought we had a lot of clutch play by CJ, Brandon, Dion, JS, and Scoop. PC played well inside which put a lot of stress on Melo & Xmas, but we had several guys step up. Brandon, Dion, & JS had several big 3's that kept growing the lead even though providence was scoring. Good game overall.
