Mike Hart was just on Bud and the Manchild and was asked what chance Syracuse had to recruit him coming out of high school. he said he respected Syracuse and was a fan but he'd always had his heart set on Michigan because his father was there, the liked the school, it's football tradition, it's helmets, (yes, sometime recruits go to a school because they like their traditional uniforms), and al the great running backs they'd had, (we had some, too, before he was born). he said that Syracuse was down and the future of Coach P was in doubt but "Syracuse could have gone 12-0 and I still wold have gone to Michigan."

I've always wondered what we might have been like with Greg Paulus at quarterback, for four years along with four years of football conditioning), and Hart had been in our backfield. it just wasn't to be. Now I can go back to wondering what it would have been like if Carmelo had stayed for four years...

Did Hart ever play in the NFL?

he was on the Colt's Super Bowl team. He'd probably still be in the NFL except for injuries. He's now running backs coach for Western Michigan.

When I watched that kid play in HS, I thought he was the next Barry Sanders. His freshman year at Michigan, before his injuries, he was just as impressive as Adrian Peterson was at the time.

I thought he was Barry Sanders in high school and became more of an Emmett Smith in Michigan. He was a utility back in the Colts offense, (they all are), but if he'd stay healthy, maybe he could have become a feature runner for somebody.
