The FCS title game was a great game, even if it had a familiar result. The North Dakota State Bison, 13-2, defeated #1 ranked 15- Montana State 35-32 for their 10th FCS title and 18th title overall since they won a poll championship in 1965.

The problem is the "Group of Five" is full of ex-FCS champions who will probably never win another and who could be giving the Dakota schools some much needed competition.

Couldn’t get a much more even matchup…pretty crazy.

I never miss a bison game. Been following them for 42 years. Amazing program. Arguably the best dynasty in college football over the last 50 years. I'm pretty sure no team has won more National Championships during that span.

Could they ever jump to FBS?

Best winter of my life was staying on campus at Montana State and ski bumming at Bridger Bowl.

How did you become a Bison fan? Just curious how somebody became a Bison fan.

Great game. And no preening and taunting. Just good, hard-nosed, disciplined football by both teams. Felt like a throwback to what D1 games used to be like.
If you ever get a chance go to Fargo and take in a game. Its a fantastic experience. Great tailgating, excellent city, fantastic golf, 400 lakes 1 hour away in Minnesota. It's really a beautiful part of the country. I started my first company with economic development funds from ND and fell in love with the people and the area.

Big fan of the Bison. Unfortunately, I totally missed the game last night. could kick myself.

Maybe if the Big 10 and SEC just take off and tell everyone else to pick up the leavingings, they will drop the FBS and FCS distinctions and we'll all be Division 1.

The base pay for NDSU's HC this year is $330,000, and with the win last night, he gets bumped up to $450,000.

Ryan Carty of Delaware is making $600,000 to take Delaware up to CUSA, and Jason Candle is making $1.1 million a year at Toledo.

So, sure, they could jump up to FBS, but I'm not sure they'd want to. They get more exposure and prestige being the best FCS team than playing on a Tuesday night in November in the MAC while having to invest way less financially.

We have one Bengals offensive lineman who was a starter for the Bison. We have gotten to know the family well.

They are native North Dakotans (is that a word?) and very die hard about their football teams. In addition to still supporting the Bison football collegiate program they fly or drive with 10 plus weekly to Bengals games regardless of where they are played.

I would guess they have around 10 alumni in the NFL at any given time.

A very solid fan base and great people are my experience.
