UMn has the ability to claim to have been one of the Top 3 programs for a significant portion of time in several sports.
 
Football from 1900-1969.  - 70 yrs!    TEN titles
Basketball from 1900-1919.  -  20 yrs  THREE titles
Baseball from 1956-1975.   -  20 yrs     THREE titles
Hockey from 1920-2014.  -   95 yrs!     TWELVE titles
Wrestling from 1995-2014.  -  20 yrs    THREE titles
W Hockey from 1998-2014.  -  17 yrs    FIVE titles
Dance Team from 2003-2014. - 12 yrs   TWELVE titles
 
 
So yes, it would be nice if we got to the point of being relevant again in both football and mens bb, but if it doesn't happen, we've still been very blessed over the years and 4 of those programs are still kicking tail at this very moment. And I do enjoy hockey, so telling me that in your opinion its an irrelevant sport will just be a waste of your breath.
 
 
Btw, there are over a dozen people making 6-7 figures playing NHL hockey right now, that are former Gopher hockey players. Millionaires! I'd say that's pretty relevant. But that's just me. What would I know. Some have told me that NO ONE cares about hockey. Funny, where does the money come from then?
