A buddy of mine talked to a Louisville fan in town for the game tonight and he had an interesting analogy for our coaching situation. He said it sounds similar to when Denny Crum was coming to the end of his tenure. I never thought of that one before and just found it surpringly accurate.
 
There are some similarities in how their careers started to tail off at the end. But it's important to point out that Crum had two really, really bad seasons down the stretch (12-20 in 1998, and 12-19 in his final year in 2001). Boeheim had never had anything close to a losing season.
 
and Crum retired at 64 from Conference USA. which isn't quite the grind of the ACC. That said I think if you compare the end of anyone coaching in their 70's to JB - we know things don't usually end well.
