Interesting conference realignment possibility ...

This story caught my eye today at lunchtime. Maybe when the next round of realignment happens, this could be in the cards.

That would be a Monster basketball conference. You know what though!? If they add Kentucky (probably never happen) Just add UConn too.

It won't happen now it could have in 1993 when C.M. Newton said he discussed it. Kentucky like the other 13 SEC schools sold their tier 3 rights to ESPN for the SEC Network NOBODY is leaving the SEC at all. SEC and B1G will be the conferences paying the most money to members. The B1G could be poached but the SEC isn't losing anybody. If Kentucky left then BC wouldn't have been added in 2004. The ACC would have had 10 members with Kentucky and likely would have added Miami and Virginia Tech in 2003 and been done for a while.

Kentucky just signed a 15 year $210 million media rights deal and will be making a boatload of money from the SEC Network. Like the above poster said, no SEC team is gonna give up all that cash.
