[QUOTE="pfister1, post: 206258, member: 285"] I would think Scoop would get a chance to make a team, in a position where he isn't guaranteed anything. Once he has that chance, I wouldn't count him out. I think he is the kind of guy that is tough as nails, works hard and tends to outperform people's expectations for him. I kind of feel like KJo is the opposite. I think he has more natural talent and ability than Scoop, but I don't think he has the moxy to make a position for himself at the next level. I would love to be wrong about that. I can't see why anyone would draft Dion right now. He has looked like an average college player with some upside given his ability to get to the rim......but his inability to consistently finish at the rim isn't a selling point. I don't know if I am convinced that he has the work ethic (once he cashes his first check) to improve on the job. If I were drafting I don't think I would spend my money on him. If Melo insisted on entering the draft I would absolutely take with a low round pick and then figure out how to give him the experience he hasn't gotten to date. I think Melo has a choice this year between being a mid to low range first round pick and being put in a position where he will have a hard time getting off of someone's bench and have to develop on the job and coming back for another year where he could do some of that development work and be a much higher pick next year. If I were his agent choosing for him I would choose the later. If I were actually in his shoes, I might choose to go for the payday today given everything we've heard about his love for school.
