Interesting Take on "The New Normal"

At this point, I'd like a count on how many players actually like their current situation. It doesn't appear to be many.
Where are you getting the impression that that not many athletes like the current situation? I have not read anything to that effect. I’m not saying you are right or wrong, just haven’t seen much info either way. Certainly confusing times!

If you eliminate all the transfer restrictions, half the team will transfer every year. It will become a free agent bazaar. Like having a new team each season. Coaches and AD's should have made their feelings known.

357 D1 schools. 13 players per team, avg 3 recruits a year. 1071 recruits. That is about the number in the portal. So that mean if the portal continues, the new trend is every school could conceivably get 6 new players a year.

This year, teams can exceed the 13 player limit for returning Seniors only.

If Sid and Marek choose to come back, we could have 15 guys.

Some teams could have more.

Problem is, in 2022-23 everyone has to be back at 13.

This will be ugly for a while.

I think it will stabilize and reduce over time.

Players will start to see trends in terms of when it works / when it doesn't work.

Coaches will do a better job adjusting to it. The old transfer rules made it easier for a coach to be a hard-ass thinking it was best for player development. Coaches will adapt, Players will adapt. The ability of a coach to retain players will become a primary consideration for AD's in making their coaching choices,

The numbers will go down.

Nah, this will be the biggest batch. Keep in mind, all these players leaving are burning their one-time waiver. That means they're pretty much all out of the potential future transfer population.

THIS.

So, for all 1500+ of these guys, they cannot transfer again unless they’re willing to sit out a year.

So it’ll be mayhem this time around, and then stabilize somewhat the next few years.

There will certainly be more movement overall in the future than the past, but nothing like this offseason.

Did not mean to say I thought that this was truly going to be the "new normal" but if the NCAA does away with the sit out for a first time transfer, there will be some mass departures / turnovers. Now "one and gone" will not only be 1-n-done but impacts with kids not liking how they were handled. New coaches may have re-recruit the guys on his new team. Point is, things will not be ths same.

Why else would they all be transferring?

The combination of being able to Transfer w/o sitting out and getting paid for likeness etc. -What could possibly go wrong? I'm certain everything will be above board
