There’s an extremely good chance that 1) Clemson wins out (and this makes the playoff), and 2) Alabama makes the playoff (I think that they’ll win out, but I do t think it will matter, as I’m pretty sure an imperfect Alabama still makes the playoffs).

There’s also a good chance that Michigan loses to Ohio State, and the B1G championship game won’t be a big bump (the west is a mess).

ND is in if they win out. Otherwise, if (when) we beat them, they’re toast (late season loss).

Who fills the last 1-2 spots? I think that the SEC East champ gets in if they’re UGA (UK would be a no-go). Then I don’t know. Does Oklahoma beat out tOSU (assuming that the Buckeyes beat Michigan)?

It would be incredible to see the B1G get snubbed before the ACC.

If Bama wins out the SEC East champ is out. I think OSU gets left out for Oklahoma. You can't lose a game by 30 points to an unranked opponent.

I agree about OU vs. tOSU.

I’m not sold on the SEC part. There have been 2 SEC-SEC NCG games in the last ~10 years, and non-SEC team not named Clemson or ND is doing their best to not make the playoff. I can see UGA slipping in at #4. The SEC hype/political machine is strong, especially in CFB. But to your point, I want to say Alabama was the special exception both times the SEC got a #2 team in. So you might be right.

I’m not sure if it would be funnier if UCF got in, or if they got snubbed.
