Living here in Iowa 90 minutes from the campus I have seen a few games of theirs this year. I am very surprised they managed to put up 110 based off prior performances. They aren't a bad team, but they certainly aren't what I would call very good. What I like about them is their patience and tenacity. Their defense is adequate, but could be better. Speed wise and athletically they are much like our team but don't have the quality of shooters we have. I have seen them get hot from time to time, but no where near the level where I would have ever expected them to even be able to score 110.

lol yeah i only saw two possessions

but iowa tried like 5 or 6 different schemes in one possession it was crazy...in the end maryland was so active in denial they ended up getting a deflection turnover

i was impressed with how "busy" iowa was...if that makes any sense...they seemed to be playing with a lot of urgency

That's a far cry from the Iowa of a decade ago, when I'm pretty sure they averaged in the 50's in points per game for an entire season several times.

Bizarrely, we seemed to aspire to be Iowa East this year where you have a really good shooting team but also one who can’t defend a lick and has a ceiling of one tournament win before getting run off floor by a far superior team of athletes. Alas, we couldn’t even pull that off because our D was historically bad.

Booker did not start in college. Talent evaluation is not an exact science.
In his nba tryout with the Suns they put 2 defenders on him, as they do to everyone, and have him go until he stops scoring.. Staff had to shut him down because he kept on scoring. Booker asked to continue and went on scoring every posession. Phoenix took him with their first pick.

Hardly any at all. When they take Rebraca out at center, it's usually been a smaller lineup with Murray as the big man.

Booker didn’t start in college because Calipari was an idiot and too scared to bench one of the Harrison twins who he was clearly better than. Like far and away better.
