A defending NC who will sleep walk thru games and win games with less style points? I mean Florida State won all of its games last year in the regular season and played 3 P5 teams in the OOC and still were getting killed for how they won.
Ohio State has 1 game left on its schedule against a ranked team Michigan State. Florida State beat ranked teams in Clemson, Notre Dame before top 10 Georgia Tech in the ACC Title game.

The CFB playoff committee put Florida State at 3 so I want to see if the same standard will apply to Ohio State this year.

i can't believe that urban meyer is rotating guys and running less read option

just because cardale jones won a couple games (big ones) doesn't mean you owe him anything. he's not that good.

i think miller is a better college qb

Last year, with Ohio State, you saw the upside of having a lot of talented QBs. One gets hurt, the next man up is ready to go, the team rallies.

This year, with Ohio State's 2nd game, you saw the downside of having a lot of talented QBs. When they are all healthy, a QB controversy can rip a team apart.

Urban has to manage it before it gets worse. If I were a betting man, I'd say he will, and I'd say everything ends up working out fine for them.

Ohio State is a shining example of why there should be no preseason polls. Had they not won a championship last year, I doubt anyone would vote them as the best team in the country based on their body of work thus far.

Polls shouldnt exist until week 5. Its a complete joke to have a poll that decides the fate of anyone out of the top 10 be decided before a single game is played.

exactly, I think week 5 might even be too early with some teams playing 4 cupcakes in the first 5 weeks. Pollsters reluctance to drop teams who didn't lose, even if they played poorly against sub-par competition will always be baffling to me.

2004 USC, Oklahoma, Auburn was an example of where preseason polls played an impact in the final outcome. USC and Oklahoma were above Auburn preseason and when none of them lost all season long Auburn wasn't able to overcome preseason rankings.
I hate how voters think teams should move down if they under perform. I hate how voters won't change their preseason votes. With the playoff committee releasing their poll from mid-October onward these polls are pointless anyway.

It obvious Jones is a better NFL prospect but Meyer's system is a better fit for Barrett or Miller.
Ohio State has struggled getting Elliott going this year. Their game with Michigan State is basically a play-in game to the Final Four. So they can tinker all they want and finishing 1st, 2nd, 3rd, or 4th doesn't matter to them.

The stupid commercial with Urban Meyer talking into a microphone about how the rest of college football is coming after them and they need to prepare puts the DUMB preseason poll into perspective. Noone should be at the top of the food chain until they have proven anything. Northern Illinois better be ranked preseason next year. haha

They probably will, tough to motivate a team that already has won a title. Their schedule is so soft, they will be able to get away with it.

in theory this sounds right, however, their polls have almost mirrored the AP and Coaches polls for the most part.
