Not in foul trouble.
Leading our scoring.
Leading our rebounding.
Not in.

I'm sorry I know Keita is a fan favorite and we all want Roc to reach his ceiling, but its not happening this game.

Keita and Roc both look invisible and we're allowing too many second chances on defense.

Get Coleman in for a spark.

no just bad on D

Can't be worse than Rac or Keita. I know Baye just had a good swing but 7 OFFENSIVE REBOUNDS? 3 on that one play!!!

Coleman's rebounding, scoring and ATTITUDE more than justifies his average defense right now.

I understand Coleman's defense is bad. But it's at least better than it was last year, and Xmas is still way too jumpy, and Keita doesn't seem to be making much of an impact tonight. We've been waiting for awhile for Coleman to step up and play big, and it looks like he finally is for one game and we aren't letting him finish it. Just frustrating.

Keita's defense is not stopping anyone from scoring right now. Our defense right now is LAZY at best.

I'll take Coleman now.

This is just a horribly coached game by JB all around, to be honest. I'm scratching my head.

Keita needs to come out now. I love him but he's hurting us.

Its his D, the guy from st. Francis was abusing him.
Keita is playing weak defense. He's being pushed around. He looks like he's guarding Shaq.

Agreed, zero from him .
Everyone else sucked against Cannon also.

JB again has his whipping boy... you make one mistake on D you sit... other guys make that same mistake over and over it doesn't matter they get to keep playing even tough they are useless on O. He again sacrifices O for perceived D.

They scored on him about 3 straight trips in the middle of the 2nd half. He didn't see the floor again after that.

I really don't remember seeing him even once in the second half. Maybe I missed it. Regardless, Kieta and Rak hurt us more.

If I'm JB I start the game with Rak and DC2 and leave in whomever is having the better game to that point. No reason why DC2 shouldn't have gotten extensive run to start the second half.

As has been said, Coleman was really one of the few out there tonight who showed any intensity. Silly to plant him on the bench once it seemed like the lightbulb was coming on.

JB just doesn't have confidence in his defense. His guy got position on him and went by him for a clean lay up 3 times in the first half. A couple times he had position, just not the lateral quickness to keep his guy in front of him. Baye and Rak may hammer the guy, but they never get by for clean looks

I just think that the second chances that Baye and Rak give the other team are just as bad if not worse.

JB obvious disagrees. I think Keita and Christmas are much better than Coleman defensively. Coleman rebounds well, but he lets guys go right by him in the lane. Keita moves his feet best and calls out shooters better than the other 2. Christmas is getting better at calling out cutters, shooters, picks, etc., and he is a very good shot blocker. Christmas has not simply disappeared in games so far, either. I think that overall, our centers will all be improved this year and the variety of looks they present to opponents (and the number of available fouls) is a big key to our overall defensive effectiveness.

Right now, it's again an issue of generating offense. Grant is attacking the rim, which was a big improvement, but he's got to hit his foul shots. Ennis has to create a bit more offense, like he did down the stretch, and not look to pass to Fair quite so much. Yes, CJ is our "go to" guy, but he was forcing it a bit again tonight. Cooney hit a big 3 for us late in the second half, but needs a little more consistency.

What do you think is more beneficial for our team? This is purely opinion based, as we're fans not coaches. I realize that.

Coleman's presence down low on offense.

or

Baye's presence as the 5 in our 2-3

Honest question. I think all together our defense has been lazy.

Baye's presence in the middle of the zone is our best asset. The guards are not cutting off dribble penetration like they did the last 2 years and have to get better up top. That's putting pressure on the centers. Easy guard penetration also sets up the corner jumper for the opponent. I think we have to do a better job on defense. I think eventually the offense is going to get better, as the guards develop more confidence and experience.
