I might very well be wrong, but that's the feeling I get. Although this morning's OTL didn't really contain anything new, they did add some of their footage from '03, more of the interview with the female and the Davis reaction to Boeheim's statements.
I just feel like they're trying to "strategically" put stuff out in increments, not showing their full "hand" all at once.

Considering the flack they are taking, I'd think they'd want to make it known they actually have something of substance at this point and aren't just crucifying a man.

Its been 4 days, how long are they going to slow play this?

Also SVP said the day it came out that there was very strong pushback within ESPN about running this story. If they had any kind of smoking gun that wouldnt have been controversial.

I think they are slow playing it in the hopes something else or someone else comes out or that a SPD / DA investigation uncovers more for them to run with

I initially thought the same. The problem is, they put out very little info day 1, and JB and others quickly jumped on them. I know if they were slow playing they wouldn't dump all their info day 2, but so far, they've just put out pretty innocuous videos with no substantiation.

At some point they need to come forward with something credible and substantial. The longer they wait AT THIS POINT, the worse they look.

Yes they want Davis to show more even more consistancy in future interviews.

Is all that twitching from drugs or the drugs that espn is illegally supplying him to stay off of them.:rolling:

I know nothing about the news business, but my guess is that if you have something in your pocket that you are not showing, it increases the chance that another news organization will put it out there first and scoop you. Why take that chance?

Good point. Echoing others, then, ESPN going to air with what they have right now is questionable at best.

This is what I think -- Schwartz convinced management that its all true. Then they looked at the PSU situation and how many people came out after it was reported and figured the same thing would happen... but its not, and they're freaking out. Full defensive mode.

The key to this entire thing is whether there are new accuser's...period.

ESPN shot their load & there's a police & DA investigation going on- so they no longer have that luxury of holding back info.
AS others have said, they were hoping for new accuser's to come out & that's still possible, but if that doesn't happen, then its over.
