I take none of this as a personal attack by the players or coaches. For me, it all really comes down to how they play, win or lose. I enjoy it when Syracuse does well. It's an "all is right with the world" feeling. I invest a lot to make sure I capture most every moment. I put aside things with my wife and kids so that I can watch a game. When they do not do well, when they could have done better, that investment feels wasted. It's relieving to come on here and find people that are seeing the same things you are, or occasionally convince you to think differently. Some people refer to this team as 'fierce competitors'. As a team unit, I don't see it. Wichita State vs. Kentucky, that was some fierce competition. Two units doing everything in their power, at both ends of the court (not just one), to win the game. It is upsetting to see so many teams compete at such a higher level than your own. 'Fierce competitors' would have a much higher bball IQ on offense. They would work in the offseason to get it. They would not lose to BC and Tech, at home. They wasted a huge opportunity, but hey, that is up to them. I watch Grant's spin moves to nowhere, and him getting out-strengthed and pushed to the ground, and think it's bad ball. I see Fair dribbling off his foot game after game and I get upset. Keita's reach ins and inability to catch the ball, and jeez, passing up a dunk attempt, it is excruciating. Rak not attacking the rim. Come on man. I don't see evidence that they are being taught differently. How do the mid majors do it? How do they get so much of their lineup to exceed their potential, and play with such intelligence? At the end of the day, I remain perplexed as to what happened this season. [/QUOTE]
