Is it too early to start looking at the 2014 and 2015 mock drafts.

The scouts are eyeing our frontline. If JG explodes this year ... bye bye (along with CJ). Fortunately, we still have enough talent to reload -- with Roberson/BJ this year and CM next.

Not necessarily. Grant has shown tremendous delay of gratification tendencies. He came here to pay his dues, as the 4th forward, when he could have easily gone elsewhere and started. This coming year looks to be CJs team, and Grant may be "Boeheimed" behind the starting of Rak. For '14-'15, it may be clear to the whole Grant camp that Grant will get the featured treatment.

At the end of this year Grant could be fringe lottery vs the expectation that staying for '14-'15 could put him top 5. If you add to that the benefit that being "the man" would have for his NBA career and he just may decide to stay. As long as he is enjoying his time at SU, it doesn't seem like Grant is the type who would want to leave right before he gets the starring role. It will not be an easy decision.

Sure, this is possible - and I actually hope you're right (I'd love to see him stay). Unfortunately, no one knows exactly when a kid will jump -- and certainly they don't listen to whether the fans think they're ready or not. Either way, being mentioned as a potential lottery pick raises the issue.

The rest of it ... about the positions .. we've been over before. If JB starts CJ at the 3 and Rak at the 4 (probable), then JG would be coming off the bench at PF. This is the same as last year. We'll see how well Rak plays (I've always had high hopes for his bb catching up with his athleticism), but JG is ready to eat his minutes if he doesn't contribute. And it's not like the NBA is afraid to draft a talented SU kid just b/c he comes off the bench.
