I dunno about Melo, but one of my roommates from SU was nominated for an Emmy for editing the credit sequence for that show.

(he was also nominated for a VMA for helping edit Kanye's video for Stronger)

As for Melo... That is definitely him. His wife must be getting him into acting!

Anyway, a quick Google shows me Carmelo is indeed appearing on Nurse Jackie, and apparently filmed an episode of SVU as well. He probably won't be playing the role of a snitch in that one, I'm guessing.
