Is the toughest schedule in school history too much for Syracuse lacrosse?

We have to play the ACC teams.

We're NOT dropping Hopkins and Cornell.

SU beat the two teams that everyone was worried about (Albany and St Johns).

And I hope nobody is stressed out over Hobart, Binghamton, or Colgate.

Is it a tough schedule? Sure. But it's not unmanageable.

We could have replaced Albany and St Johns with two cupcakes and we'd have the exact same record we have now.

Hopkins game is in jeopardy of being dropped next year (see lax power) and honestly if we dropped Cornell outside of maybe 10 people no one would care. I think people were concerned about Albany big time not sure how many were really worried about St. Johns other then having them in place versus a true cupcake.

The issue is also how the schedule is set out, having Albany, Maryland, UVA, St.Johns, JHU, Duke, and ND in a row is idiocy. Funny how other ACC schools found a way to spread the schedule out expect for Syracuse. (yes UVA is in a difficult stretch but they had 4 cupcakes before they played SU). This isnt even taking into consideration that syracuse then follows up that schedule with a game against Binghamton (top end faceoff guy), Cornell on the road during the week and then 4 days later UNC at home.

Also more important the issue isnt people being worried about Binghamton, Hobart, or Colgate (after last years horrible loss to Hobart I would hope theres nothing to worry about) The issue is that Syracuse could potentially go from preseason #1 to not even making the ACC tourney less the actual tourney. That is a direct result of the schedule and Syracuse's play at the X. Its

It's much more the x than the schedule. If we were truly good enough to be #1 it wouldn't matter that much who we played and when. We are at risk of missing tourneys because we aren't that good not because of our schedule. (If we had an easier schedule but still or issues, sure we'd make the tourney, but we'd get run in our first game)

Still time to right most of our issues though.

I'd be pissed if we dropped Cornell. Hobart not so much. When I grew up rich Moran was coaching Cornell and Hobart was d3 which is where they belong.

I really do not care who is on the non-conference slate beyond Hopkins, Cornell and Hobart. Those teams are real, long time rivals and would hate to lose them to keep Albany, St Johns or Colgate. I would like to see some strategic games added in critical recruiting areas, but I am not holding my breath for a game on Long Island or in Philly.
