St Johns at msg - we'll have more fans, we always play well at the garden, W

Gtown at dome - was never sold on gtown, theyre coming back down to earth, squeaked by providence and rutgers at home. We blow em out

UConn at dome - will be tough game, but uconn obviously has some issues, W

Louisville on road - toughest game the rest of the way, L

Rutgers at the RAC - we'll have more fans, we wont be overlooking them since theyve had some nice wins, W

USF at dome - please, W

UConn on road - tough, L

Louisville at dome - we aint losing to them again, especially on senior day on a saturday, W

i think people see gtown, lville, and uconn 5 times the rest of the way and think its brutal. but none of those teams are anything special. at worst we go 3-2 in those 5 games, as long as we dont stumble against st johns, rutgers or south florida thats 15-3 and a lock 1 seed.

(btw this is assuming fab is back. if hes done just pretend i never wrote this)

UConn and GT are trending down...UL's back in the top 25, but I think if Fab comes back we can go 6-2 over this stretch, maybe even run the table.

The toughest part is the 3 games stretch in 6 days.

Wed- Gtown
Sat-Uconn
Mon- Louisville

Thats brutal. Thankfully the first 2 are home.

We always seem to get lville a shitty time...closing out freedoom hall than this Not to mention the big east championship with our guys playing on fumes

Umm, I don't know if this is the minority opinion you seem to think it is. It was pretty clear a couple months ago that the road games vs L'ville/Uconn would be the only ones we might not be favored in.

Cinn and ND just beat UConn at UConn. So can we.

I basically agree with your entire assessment except for one game, I think our home game with Louisville will be an absolute war. Rick Pitino, just like Jamie Dixon, has a blue print for dissecting our zone. We're more talented, but I wouldn't be surprised if we get outrebounded and the game closely resembles our game vs. WVU.

The Louisville games are the only tough ones... we own Gtown... not worried about Yukon this year.

I think we will handle them here but the gameday game is going to be a tough one.
I'm sure by then they will have figured things out and we will get their best effort.

IF ... the kids get out of their midseason swoon: IF we can get Melo back ... then we could run the board.

Id feel alot better about that game if it was a noon game or a weeknight game. The gameday crowds are usually rowdy, that will be a very hostile atmosphere.

How many times has the home team lost gameday? I think it just happened, but it was a Pac 12 game, and they don't count.

I would love to silence their storrs crowd, but I just don't see it happening.

Plus they will be giving away tickets left and right to make sure that place is packed.

But Ryan burr said we have some "serious, serious problems" and we'll probably "lose 5 or 6 games before the tourney"

I actually think the fact that both UConn and Lville will want to get up and down the floor will help us. Still both of thise away games will be tough. GTown could play that slow grinder that we have been having trouble with and StJohns runs hot and cold but if we have Fab for those no real worries.

We lost one game this season on the road without Fab while everyone else laid an egg. We didn't play great but beat Cinci on the road, we played very poorly and beat WVU.

Get Fab back get through this late January slump and if the shots start falling we are once again the team to beat IMO.

Is upcoming schedule really that tough?

Yes.
And I'm sure the coach and the team realize it and will prepare accordingly.

Road games in big east are always tough especially when you are the best team. We're going to get everybody's best shot and no help from the ref's. Even so if fab comes back so we can have a power forward in the lineup than we should go 6-2 and maybe 7-1. Then win 1 in big east tournament and go home and get ready for the NCAA.

I know this quote is not in the theme of this thread topic, but I laughed out loud (I guess that would be LOL) when I read this. Thanks for the laugh NKR :)

I think you have painted a very fair and realistic assessment here. I doubt you are more than one game off either way.

UConn is like Pitt. I won't believe it until after the final buzzer sounds.

Nope. Tix are long since all gone. Storrs always sells out. And competition for these tix is especially fierce. Gampel is like a later-day Manley -- bit with more amenities and worse parking. Not a fun place for the visiting team, and the Game-Day hype will have them in a frenzy. This game will not be easy. Plus, unless you live in within an hour of Storrs, the drive-home after midnight (over dark, narrow, unmarked roads) will be horrid -- which discourages people from southern CT (where there are SU fans) from attending. Is anyone on the board aside from me going to be there?
