Just getting into this thread. So sorry learning about Isaiah Jones. He injured his shoulder in pre-season and must have aggravated it Saturday in whatever happened. Saw him coming off the field with his arm hanging straight down - not good. A lot of worried people here. I think our current receiver group will step up and Garret Shrader, who was anything but what he showed he can do passing and being accurate vs Louisville and the dogs, will help us be the team we were in game one. We have receivers who will be taking reps this week to replace Jones, Pena and Foster who are all out and to make themselves better than they were last week. But, who are you thinking would be the best receiver to get results, catch the ball and add on extra yardage? We have receivers who are here because they are good, have HS resumes that are worthy but are freshman and except for two have no game experience. I would rather have someone who has been in some games, caught some balls, is fast and can create separation which doesn’t leave any past the two deep to step up. CJ Hayes, a senior, is my pick though he hasn’t caught a pass for us yet and dropped a ball thrown into his hands by Shrader in the Louisville game, but had 25 catches during his stint for MST before transferring here, my second choice is D'Marcus Adams who played for FAU and runs a 4.46 but was used as a punt returner there. Saw Villari was in for at least one play vs. Purdue. Hopefully the owies aren’t that sore and we will have a good four days of practice. And perhaps coming from Virginia, Dr. Robert Anae and Jason Beck will be able to provide some inside information about what their old team likes to do in certain situations. But most importantly it will be up to us to play the way we are capable of playing and put another game into the WIN column. I hope every person who cares about Syracuse football is there and makes the LOUD HOUSE VERY LOUD SO VA CAN’T HEAR ANYTHING. Here’s a comparison of QB stats from a game this weekend: OLD DOMINION 14 Hayden Wolf CMP 23 // ATT 37 // YDS 235 // TD 2 // INT 0 // LNG 29 // SCK 3 VIRGINIA 16 Brennan Armstrong PASS // CMP 20 // ATT 37 // YDS 284 // TD 0 // LNG 45 // SCK 2 RUSH // ATT 14 // GAIN 76 // LOSS 22 // NET 54 // TD 0 // LNG 17 // AVG 3.9
