Assuming this season ends as expected (3-9), if I am Coach Shafer, there is one imperitive move that needs to be made. [B]I must find this program a successful OC.[/B] Whether it is from a P-5 program or below, he has to find the funding and connections needed to get a proven OC here. Shafer is a defensive coach with a good defensive staff (albeit the jury is still out on Bullough) that has put together a good unit since his arrival in 2008. The OC would have complete control of the offense, the HC has complete control of the rest of the program. As a side note, I do not classify Bill Cubit in this equation as his offense has not done well at Illinois and they are about to be fired.
 
There are still many other issues with this program (lack of player discipline, lack of player development, injuries, etc.) but this seems like a must move if Shafer is to survive beyond 2015.
