SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The Syracuse women's tennis team concluded its fall season this past weekend with athletes at both the Oracle ITA National Fall Championships and at the Harvard Invitational. Gabriela Knutson and Miranda Ramirez traveled to Indian Wells, California to compete in the Oracle ITA National Fall Championships. The pair faced off with the top 64 female tennis athletes in the country in a five-day competition. Ramirez advanced to the round of 32 after defeating Tamera Arnold from Tyler Junior College, 6-4, 6-2. The junior fell in the second round to end her singles competition. Knutson lost in the round of 64 but advanced all the way to the semi-finals in the consolation singles, winning three matches, all of which were two-set victories. The duo earned a main doubles draw but lost in the round of 32, 6-3, 2-6, 1-0, in a hard-fought match against a pair from Loyola-Marymount University. Knutson and Ramirez rallied and added to their win total with a victory in the consolation doubles.
