against an improved ACC foe. I'm not saying Wake will going bowling, but they look better to me. At the same time, it's too early to make any strong assessments about any team in any conference. It will be interesting to see how Wake plays the remainder of the season. Wake's offense did a good job early finding the open spots in the SU defense when SU's pressure didn't get to Wolford. However, SU was plus-3 in the turnover department (plus-7 or so after two games) which helped a great deal during the first half. SU's defense, especially the back end, improved its play in the second half which is good to see. On offense we saw some kids make some plays. Dungey has been on campus for about 7 weeks, and it goes without saying that what he has been able to do is very impressive. He's going to improve. Plenty of room for improvement on both sides of the ball which is pretty much par for the course if you look around college football at this point in the season. CMU, like Wake, is a better football team than it was a year ago. This is a good test for SU. As the excitement around the football team begins to build, even if just a little, it will probably feel really good especially after what happened a year ago. Receiving more positive attention is always nice. The challenge for SU will be to receive any and all of the positive vibes without becoming dependent on it. The locker room, the work ethic and the focus need to be same as last season when so many things went wrong and SU stayed focused and battled for a full 60 anyway. SU needs to stay grounded and focus just like the the women and men at Ft. Drum do when they go to work. Keep it real. Giddy up. Go Cuse!!
