Quite frankly, I think the metro area fan base has exploded since the late 90s.  Even for Garden games, the difference between the late 90s and now is stark.  We've always represented at the Garden but there was a time when Uconn was the dominant force at the BET.  For the last 7-10 years, I think we've slowly taken that from them.  Now, we blow everybody away.
 
For the football games, if we can have the NYC area fans come out like they did for the Pinstripe (i think the fan base did a nice job), and hopefully have the CNYers actually get out of Onondaga Cty like they do for the BET, then I see no reason that we can't have 30k in the stadium wearing Orange.
 
And I still can't for the life of me understand the b*tching and moaning by the CNYers that they have to actually jump in a car once a year and travel down the road 3.5 hours.  I'm not looking for a cookie or anything, but I do the reverse commute up to Syracuse 6 or 7 times a fall.  Its not that terrible.  And if the Dome was sold out every weekend, this wouldn't be an issue.
