You really think Marrone doesn't realize the need to protect the ball, block a guy up the middle on a field goal.  I can guarantee you that is stressed all the time, it is common knowledge you need to protect the ball.  If you turn the ball over, you cant win.  The players need to execute the simple things, protect the ball.  I can honestly say coaching did not lose us this game.  The only thing I could say that was truly a coaching mistake was going for the 50 yard field goal (punting would have been stupid to though, and it was 4th and 20 so your wrong if you punt it, no question it's a touchback with the punters we have or try the field goal even if it was wishful thinking.  The other was first down at the 3 and only running it on 3rd down, needed to run it with the tank package more.)  Other than that it was on the players.  Rene (even though he was clearly down) was in traffic getting tackled with only one arm on the ball, 3 guys around him he needs to cover and protect the ball, he was careless.
