The Gone-zaga and UVA games were probably among the most exciting Orange games I've watched in very long time.

My own opinion is : there are certain years that parity makes a mess out of college ball- like the 2 recent times ucon won the title, what were they 8/9 seeds? And then the year duk beat Butler, imo we should have been the champ that year; if not SU then it should have been ku or uk imo. But in other years the cream rises to the top eventually like in '12, 13, 15 and probably this year. But when you look at our FF run, i am thrilled there was a ton of parity this year. It allowed a talented team (hopefully 3 future nba players) with 3 guys playing out of position , but a team with a ton of heart to make that run to the FF. G and TC etc deserved it

Also, the stats just didn't add up. If you looked at the stat line for the games --our shooting %, it was hard to figure out how we won. UVa had better shooting %, 3 pt. % and FT %.

I agree. We didn't even play our best - kind of like 2013. If we had put together more offense at the right time, we could have gone all the way. That shows you the strategic advantage of our zone in a tournament where teams don't see it twice or three times every year. We are very unique in the way we play it. Nobody plays it like we do. It's almost a 4-1 trap, rather than a traditional 2-3.

The only teams that have played even close to 40 minutes of quality ball in each game are the 2 facing off tonight. They've been the best all Tourney and have really stuck it to whoever they've played.

We haven't played a good 40 minutes of basketball in a game this year, or in a very long time. That's just not in our DNA, but our guys made huge plays and were the aggressor in every 2nd half before Saturday. Big credit to how tough they've played and how crazy this run was.
