It's Not Just Us This Year

I took a look at the final AP Top 25 poll for 2018. It was really interesting to see the rankings and how many teams fell off. Below are teams who finished ranked and their current records in parenthesis:

#9 Texas (6-5)
#10 Washington St (6-5)
#11 UCF (8-3)
#12 Kentucky (6-5)
#13 Washington (6-5)
#15 Syracuse (4-7)
#16 Texas A&M (7-4)
#18 Fresno St (4-7)
#19 Army (5-6)
#20 West Virginia (4-7)
#21 Northwestern (2-9)
#22 Utah St (6-5)

Most notable is Texas. They were hyped a ton by the media. Northwestern also took a huge drop.

The point of this is to say that I'm sure most of these teams had high hopes like we did. We aren't the only ones to fall flat. Usually stuff happens and it sucks. Let's hope that Dino cleans this up.

I believe in Dino. I think he's going to make some tough decisions this offseason. When he first was hired he talked about growing green to avoid being red and rotten. This spring is a chance to grow again and avoid falling further.

so half the top 20 fell well below expectations. if we win sat then 1 game worse than all those teams and thats coin flip game that makes that happen. a fumble call here, a missed FG there.

True. I forgot about Nebraska and how much hype they got this year. I was shocked that they gave Frost a contract extension a couple of weeks ago.

Several of those (West Virginia and Us, sure few more) lost senior QBs too.
