A former walk-on for the Irish under Lou Holtz, Bevacqua is a former high-end golf executive who has run NBC Sports for the last ~5 years. He's passionate about ND. As high profile this position is, I am surprised he is making this move. Some had him pegged as a potential league commissioner down the line (NBA, MLB, NFL, NHL, etc.). I believe he'll prompt some change/modernization at ND, but not quick enough for the ACC.

We continue to see what SU did in hiring Wildhack is asking to what P/D did with the freeze option and offense in the late 80s. Trendsetting.
An AD with experience in the media business is becoming en vogue.
