Jacob Green?

If true, kid was blue chip in high school.

Anybody know if Syracuse picked up a transfer Jacob Green from from Ball Sate? I have seen his name mentioned the last few days by players, and apparently he did leave Ball State July 5th. I just do not know if this is a different Jacob Green. FYI there is a Jacob Green in the student directory.

#1 ranked TE prospect in the state of Ohio makes him very interesting. He would have to sit out a year if this is true.

Full name is Jacob Maxwell Green. Directory says Jacob M Green but lists him as a freshman and he spent 3 years at Ball State.

I noticed him also but would he have much eligibility left?

"While looking at the Ball State football roster for Calvin Blank’s Hello post, I noticed that Jacob Green and Aaron Mershman were no longer listed on the roster. According to Ball State’s profiles for the players, Jacob left the team after spring practices and Aaron received a medical scholarship for an undisclosed career-ending injury. I wish nothing but the best of luck to both players in the future.
It’s not a surprise that Jacob decided to leave the program, he came in to Ball State as a well-regarded tight end/linebacker from Wyoming, Ohio but struggled to earn playing time in his career. He appeared in two games as a redshirt freshman without recording any statistics and that was it for his entire career. I was a little surprised that the coaching staff didn’t move him back to linebacker to give him a second chance at becoming a contributor but thought that he was likely to not be invited back for a fifth year."

If true, the coaching staff continues to work the "waiver wire" like it's the NFL, digging up talent from some pretty unusual sources.

Maybe he's a walkon. And if he walked-on (paid his own way) I believe he could play immediately.

Marrone has done that every year he's been here. I love that he brings an NFL style approach to roster management.

Knowing nothing about the kid we'll have to take a wait and see but only based upon his 3 seasons I'm not going to praise working the waiver wire. Something makes nit sense. He couldn't get on the field. Wouldn't be surprised as someone else mentioned that he could be a walkon.

Yeah, plenty of kids don't live up to the recruiting hype at the collegiate level. If he could be Cruz #2, we'd be lucky.

I notice that Jacob Green is listed on the SUA roster. He's a 2012 grad of Seattle Prep in Seattle, Wash. I assume he the son of Jacob Green who played for the Seahawks.

friends with current recruiting prospect Tere Calloway ...

LOL I thought that might be the case too but it appears there is no relation as Jacob Green has daughters and lives in Texas.

Well everyone deserves a few moments of fame...here's Jacob.
