Here are the actual high temperatures in Syracuse for each day in 2014-2021 compared to the average high, (based on stats that go back to 1901) and the difference that day, + or – as well as a running deficit or surfeit. Here is the website I used for these numbers:
Accuweather now gives the actual highs but not the historical averages for each date:
I used this for the historical averages:
Daily Normals for Syracuse, NY
The numbers are the date, the actual high, the historical average high, the net difference, the cumulative net since January 1st, the numbers of days we exceeded the historical average, the number of days we didn't reach it and the number of days we tied it.

Comment: Winter is not a Tyrannosaurus Rex, searching out its victims. It’s Brontosaurus, plodding along, huge but unthreatening, until it decides to swipe you with its mighty tail. We got through the first three weeks+ of the month and year, exceeding the average high 19 of 22 days and gaining a net 87 degrees. Then Winter’s tail swatted us with 8 days of 9 under the average with a loss of 63 degrees. We wound up with highs in the teens and nights in single digits. Then the temperature relented and here came a Nor’easter and the first big snowfall of the season in the Syracuse area. But something significant happened on January 26th, something that hadn’t happened since last July 7th: the average high went up, from 31 degrees to 32. It’s a start….
