Currently sits 3rd with 890 wins behind Knight 902 and Coach K at 927. He will tie & pass Knight this year. Assuming SU starts off undefeated, he will tie Knight against Alcorn St on Dec 29th and pass him on New Year's Eve against Central Conn St.
What an incredible career for JB. We are lucky to have had a coach win 74.5% of his games during those 36 years. As basketball fans, we've certainly been spoiled. Sure, he only has 1 championship, but he also hasn't had any major lulls in the program over the years unlike most other schools. Basically every year he is able to recruit and field extremely competitive teams. Even the year we got boned out of the tourney, we won 22 games.
Prior to BE play, the two winningest coaches in D1 history will still be very actively coaching. It is amazing that they have both coached the Olympics team during the last couple Olympic Games. What a coaching staff that is. Off the court, they are good friends which is great to see. Looking forward to them annually squaring up on the court.
Looking forward to JB and Cuse having another big year.
