JB should resign gracefully before being fired

JB & BF have been together for so long (50 years) and tied so closely since they both started coaching even living so close together - they are just too closely tied to each other both on and off the court - it's hard for me to understand why JB shouldnt just resign gracefully.

I hear where you are coming from.

This isn't about JB covering up information or working in collusion to protect an assistant. The argument is how could JB work with Bernie for 40+ years and not know something... This isn't an 85 player football team. This is 15 players and 5 coaches.

And if he genuinely didn't know anything about this situation involving his 1st Lieutenant, how much else does JB not know about?

The question is whether JB genuinely has control of this program...

How would resigning in the middle of all that is going on be greaceful? It would be admitting guilt, which as has been said: to this point, he has done nothing wrong beyond talking too much, which he has done forever..

The OPs suggestion would only guarantee that JB and BF are linked for eternity. If JB is innocent of any wrongdoing -- which I believe to be the case based on what we currently know -- he deserves to leave SU on his own terms at a time of his choosing.

Please explain to me what he has done wrong - either morally or legally. His resignation would essentially be an admission of guilt.

I honestly believe that JB is telling the truth when he said he didn't know what was going on: either with Bernie or his wife. JB, from what I know of him, is basically an introverted square. Plus, he tends to mind his own business and doesn't appear to interfere in the lives of others (coaches, players, etc.). His life is sports. When he's not coaching basketball, he's consumed with following other sports. The guy is a walking encyclopedia of sports trivia.
