ive listened to a few JB interviews this week. could just be coach speak but hes really talking up michigan's offense. best offense we've faced all year, mcgary is a difference maker, zone wont look as good cause michigan will score points, etc. and that our offense needs to be better, he said in '03 we beat texas and kansas because of our offense. i wonder if hes been saying all that to the team this week, and if it will have an impact on his strategy. will our O be more aggressive? look to run more? we've been content to be very patient and methodical on offense in the half court, mostly cause we've been winning the entire tournament. maybe we'll be more in "attack" mode. nah its probably just coach speak haha

If you watched the Michigan Kansas game you saw it. I remember when Michigan was down 9 or 10 I kept thinking that Kansas had to stretch the lead to win. Kind of crazy to think that when a 4 seed plays a 1, but I just couldnt get past the idea that Michigan has some real offensive talent, and they can just go off. They dont strike me as the grind it out type they are more the score in bunches type.

We have to frustrate them. We need a 25-22 halftime score as opposed to 35-32. They're mostly underclassmen, they've never seen a zone like this, if we can get to them early they'll start taking horrible and contested shots and become lazy on D. If they get to around 35 at half they'll be pretty confident that they can beat the zone and I'm not sure if we can score with them if it gets to that point (unless BT is on).

I truly feel that the quality of the 2-3 that Syracuse is playing right now can stunt any team. It forces the other team to play a different form of offense than they're used to. If they don't hit 3's, it could be a rough night for them.

It is a fact that Michigan is loaded with athletic talent, but this might be JB's best zone ever.

We roll.

Agree about the D but it's not that simple. We HAVE to score when they struggle early and they will struggle at some point, probably early on. We can't be up 0-6 points if Michigan is going through a big offensive drought. That won't cut it. The UConn and first Georgetown games come to mind.

Its not just about defense for us. Are defense will be good for long portions of the game IMO but they will make shots at some point and when they are we need to answer on our end. Making shots when they are kills the run and slows the game down. This is really what we failed to do against Lville in the BET, yes we were getting mugged, yes we were without James but we simply needed to execute and get 3-4 baskets during that initial onslaught to stem the tide and settle in.

we also missed a few fts during that run that would have stopped their momentum, at least temporarily.

Regardless of what you say ,putting the ball into the baker doesn't necessarily follow the rhetoric, especially for those 3 point guys. Even CJ has had a problem with his usually accurate mid-range shot lately. If the Orangemen win the next two games it will require some big games from the scorers like James CJ and even Williams in his paint points and of course CJ in there as well. I always consider Triche as a wild card because you never know if he shows up for big games. He gets introduced and then becomes stealth on the court. All we can expect from Rak is the hope he doesn't get 3pfs in the first half.Same with Moose.

Those were huge. Although I was not at all a fan of how they second half of that game was called we still handled it very poorly.

Kansas threw that game away. The back court pass and the 10 second violation.
