Jerami Grant (Hyattsville, Md./Dematha Catholic)
2012, PF, 6-7, 200 pounds
College: Syracuse
Grant was the most consistent performer for Dematha Catholic during its championship run. The sinewy 4-man with wing-type skills affected the game with his length, bounce, and savvy. He finished through contact -- usually with a monster throw down -- and he also exhibited a glimpse of his improved passing skills. He can knock down the 3-point shot, but his release is long and it's not real fluid. Overall, he has all the natural talent to be an elite player for Syracuse.

Sounds like the prototypical SU / Boeheim versatile forward. Plus, he's got great bloodlines.

He's already my pre-favorite player.

actually, I believe he will be better...
Look, I hope Grant is great for SU, but do you recall how good Hak was? We are talking about the national POY as a senior.. one of the all time greats for the program. Not many at all are going to match how good he was.

Don't think he is close to the McDonalds level. He is ranked somewhere in the 40's or 50's. In time will be a big contributor but he has to add some muscle and refine his considerable skills.

good point on his skills. I don't know who it was, but whenever the last interview I heard about him was, the guy rated him in the 30s... which would mean he could possibly be in the vicinity. Especially if you throw in his potential, name, HS, and college commit. What the hell, I say he makes it!!

Does Morgan Wooten still have a big say? If so, maybe.

This kid is a star in the making i saw him play a few weeks ago against dc & he put on a performance , in my opinion he is a Small Forward he can dribble drive , shoot the 3 , play hard nose defense , shoot a mid range jumper & he is very quick in speed . He is too slim to the play the four in the big east , more suitable to play the Small Forward position .
