Kudos to JB. I thought the way Schwarz reported the story was a bit over the top and dramatic, considering these are allegations at this point and had already been investigated three times. I hope the police do their jobs and do it well...for all parties involved. And they need to do it fast...before Schwarz can spin anymore yarns. He even made it seem like JB was part of the whole thing ("How could any adult (ie JB) not question that the kid was in Bernie's room or that he was in Bernie's office with the door closed and locked?). Talk about creating something out of nothing.

Wow. ESPN better watch themselves if they intend to insinuate that this went beyond Fine without any supporting evidence.

Guys you echoed my thoughts exactly. The whole thing seemed strange from the accuser claiming this went on until he was 27. Is it really molestation if it goes on that long? Doesn't he become an adult with free will at some point?

Not to mention this was investigated twice and both came back with no findings. Believe me, if ESPN found something in 2003, they would've reported it. They feed off of stuff like this.

I was glad to see Jim release this statement so quickly and firmly.

It's comforting that JB came out so forcefully. I can't imagine him making a statement like that unless he really believes it. However, if any of this is true, I think he stupidly just tied his fate to Bernie's.

You are correct. Which means JB wouldn't have said what he did unless he felt 100% certain this is all BS

I believe JB implicitly but don't think that statement will tie him to Bernie's fate if Bernie is guilty. It simply means JB saw nothing that would indict Bernie. The truth will come out.

I would feel so much better about this if the University approved or released the statement. Anyone know if they did?
