RoysRunts' post below on Jim Brown sent me on a reverie back to my youth, when JB was a god to me. At the beginning of my hearing about him, my interest may have been because he was a Long Island kid like me. But watching those 9 years in the NFL, his never missing a game, brutalizing opposing players with his power and upper body, showing more speed that those so-called-back-then "scatbacks," demonstrating the balance and sure-footed finesse of a Balishnikov (sp?), he truly burned a place in my mind, as well as the minds of most football observers/historians, as the all-around best to ever play the game.
This clip is the best and highest quality I've seen about JB gridiron deeds. Shows some SU footage.
Hard to believe he didn't break bones--his or his tacklers--in many of those runs.
