Jim Grobe resigns at Wake Forest after 13 years, a source told

Sorry to see that...very nice guy. It will be interesting to see what happens with the Wake BB team. If they have a losing season I think there will be "resignations" of the BB Coach and AD.

Wow. RT @BloggerSoDear: Jim Grobe is stepping down as Wake Forest's football coach as reported by Dan Collins.

he's a perfect guy for that program.....schiano? pasqualoni?

that E.carolina coach might be a fit too.

The HCs at Coastal Carolina and Old Dominion might fit the bill.

I think Wake was fortunate to have Grobe (who is an excellent coach IMO). It's going to be difficult coaching gig for anybody at Wake - having the smallest undergrad population of any FBS school (4,800).

4800??? Holy sheet, that is small!!! I thought SU was small in regards to undergrad population. Thanks for the info.

Call me a vulture, but we did offer one Wake commit, safety Cameron Glenn:

Also had interest from, but had not offered, Hialeah C A'lique Terry:

Wow, I had no idea UVA's enrollment was basically the same as SU. I'm actually surprised UNC and VaTech are in shouting distance of us too. Goes to show how being a state school amps up the size of a fanbase, since those schools all are much bigger than us in that regard.

Notre Dame, by far, wins the award for highest % of students attending football games. Having attended both of our games in South Bend, their student section looks at least 10,000 strong and it literally makes all of the noise in that stadium (other than the away fans).

Unless Mike London gets fired, I think TOB could continue his ACC tour of duty at Wake. He would be the Pasqualoni on top of their UConn sundae.

Why did he leave? I think he'll be a very nice hire for a lot of schools, especially if he can get a recruiter like McDonald.

I wonder if Morris' agent got that news out to try and generate more interest (Texas/UCLA). Wake seems like a tough place for a guy like that to take his 1st job- can he get the pieces to run his offense at WF?
