Class of 2019 JJ Levandowski (MA / IMG) Mid

Dont be . No blame here.

Levandowski would have been in mix for pt next year, however the take by JC's comrade on imperfect match was prescient.
Other two were addition by subtraction considering all.

Positive, wont hear much about him this year but frosh g Harrison Thompson is very good.

Wasn’t this kid at one point the top player or like top 5 in his class? Maybe 2016 or 2017?

See the post below from when he committed. Since Xanders works for IL now there is only one recruiting ranking. He did fall quite a bit, even from Ty’s rankings. But they never explain these things so we don’t why.

This kid is IL's #2 ranked Sophomore. I put more stock in Xanders' rankings (has him at #17) but this is a HUGE pickup.

Four now. Derby, Wood, Ulmer and now L
Disappointing for sure. Don’t think he would have seen much, if any time this year and next year would have been difficult for him as well. That’s a long time to wait for an opportunity. Still don’t like the fact that three guys have left after fall ball.

Actually four.

Derby, Wood, Ulmer and now Levandowski. First three would never have seen the field here so those departures inconsequential to future but the latter had talent and likely would have played some in 21' season before playing large role beyond.

A few other maybes

Perhaps some subtle poaching by other(s) by doings that are now somewhat acceptable.

Originally a OSU commit so maybe some fickleness that could lead to ra econsideration but in any event better to know now than later for all.

Jeez, well now we know why they haven't updated the roster yet, probably not sure who will show up in the spring. Some years a big amount of players transfer out, though I can't remember so many freshmen deciding to quit after fall ball. If the poaching thing is true, it sounds exhausting to be a college coach now a days. Not only do you have to worry about your recruits, but now have to guard against the kids already on your team. Hope the kids who show in the spring are the ones who truly want to be part of team. And maybe this will force the coaches to pick smaller and more manageable recruiting classes.

My take: With the return of Tucker D, the Orange is loaded with midfielders with quality playing time (5 with double digit goals/season. Only one, Trimboli, is a senior. For 2020, there is only one open spot- 3rd middie on second line. PT will be scarce for freshmen. Only slightly better in 2021 and what if Scanlan moves back to midfield after this season? Fall ball was probably a real eye opener for many freshmen and with the transfer portal moving on is easier. Wish JJ the best of luck and hope it works out for him.

Had to be more that factored into his decision to enter transfer portal than specter of not seeing field anytime soon. .Most newcomers arrive with eyes wide open and understand one doesnt just plug in especially if talent present at position.

Every top d1 roster littered with hs stars .Cuse roster still large at 54 but number inflated by the large number of fogos and goalies on it.

The number of offensive mids on roster are now only 14 which is probably the lightest that Cuse has carried at that position in years .

Looking beyond this year, only Curry and Dordevic seem guaranteed in 2021, not discounting abilities of Lipka, Buttermore or any other but a truly high end talent could potentially compete for the new opening on first line or one of three spots on second..

If simply outlook on future p/t and he was not that confident then it reflects well on the talents of our mid group in waiting.

Disappointed he entered portal but respect .Not easy, problably mix of factors Wish him well.

Agreed Ivorytower, most likely several factors went into the decision. I was looking at it purely from a lacrosse point of view and not speculating on other factors.

I find it hard to believe he didnt check what majors SU offered at some point in the last three years he was committed here. I guess he could have changed his mind and SU didnt have something but something smells here.

Majoring in Parks, recreation, and tourism. Seems like something that could easily be researched. Maybe he just decided after a summer job...

He's definitely a strange one...
