#1 McNabb--one of the best Syracuse QBs ever--did not even play as a true freshman.  If one of our best QBs ever was shelved as a true freshman, why are we playing a true freshman who was recruited as our 3rd QB in the class as a true freshman?  If the coaches did not play McNabb as a true freshman, was it perhaps EVEN HE was not ready?  Why would we expect a project QB (at best) to be ready to start games on national TV (UNC and ND), plus what I consider (but apprently the coaches didn't consider) an important game against BC?  Project QBs are supposed to be developed over time... not thrust in way before they are game ready.

#2 How many second tier Syracuse starting QBs played as true freshmen?  How many third tier?  I am sorry that your blind love for these coaches is so strong that you cannot see that Filardi had NO business being on the field and are judging his talent (or lack thereof) based on their incompetence is unfair.  I can see programs playing their #1 true freshman recruit late in the season to get experience, maybe even start a game.  But if you bring in a guy to be a project QB at best... give him garbage time (that they were not even giving Carney).

#3.  I don't want to see Filardi out there again any time soon, much less starting.  But I am not the one that played him in the first place.  I don't blame the kid or rule him out forever.  Because I cannot ignore the number of players that went from nothing to something from ages 18 to 22.  So I am not blaming the staff for keeping him on the roster as a project either.  Let's see if he does turn into something.
