I posted after the first half that he needed to shoot jumpers. He had some really nice pull-ups in the second half and it really helped the team out. He still missed some assist opportunities and was a little outta control at times, but the second half was encouraging. It's clear that he needs to look to score more, especially when Cooney's being hounded all game.

Unrelated to Joseph, we need to find a way to screen better for Cooney. That one guy was on him like glue all day and was clearly just more physically dominant. We needed to screen hard enough so that Clemson would have no choice but to switch; don't let the guy go over the screen. This is on our screeners and on Cooney, who needs to come off of them tighter. If teams continue to do this, they will, I think we need to put Cooney at PG and have him shoot off the dribble. Coming off screens laterally allows the defenders to cut off the passing lanes. GMac shot a lot more off the dribble in his senior season, when there were no other options, similar to what Cooney is facing. The percentage will dip, but he'll certainly get better looks than he got today.

The missed stepback/blown layup due to not protecting the ball sequence was bad, but Joseph played well apart from that in the second half and helped us tremendously. We need more of that. Big step forward today.

Next problem to solve: Roberson's touch around the basket.
