It all started back in the second grade.
John Galloway attended Onondaga Road Elementary School in Syracuse, not more than 15-minute drive from the Carrier Dome. Older brother Joe would come home from school with some friends, other neighborhood kids would join in, and before you knew it a lacrosse game was underway. Joe played close defense so it wasn’t going to be him. Joe’s friends wanted to pass and shoot, so it wasn’t going to be them, either. Someone had to be the goalie.
It was going to be John.
He was the youngest of the kids, so it wasn’t like he had much of a choice. Looking back now, the 26-year-old Rochester Rattlers goalie says those sandlot games helped shape the netminder he is now...
