Then, I had the opportunity to catch two practices that year during the preseason, and was even more impressed -- it was readily obvious seeing the team live that he was substantially better than Frank Howard, who Gillon eventually replaced in the starting lineup.

Like Fly Rodder said -- he wasn't a great fit for what we do defensively, and he had some flaws in his game [I was a little disappointed that he didn't have that waterbug handle that small, scoring guards often have].  But man, could he fill it up, and what a shooter.  And he was automatic from the line.  Down the stretch in close games, I was 100% confident that he would close things out if we had even a slight lead.

Glad Gillon got the opportunity to participate on some Boeheim's Army squads, because that gave him more opportunity to don Orange and connect with the fanbase.
