Hadn't they called a timeout after getting trapped or was that a different play? If it was the one they called a timeout during then the ten second count is reset.

I don't think it's the same play, but if they called a TO with 24 seconds on the shot clock, and hadn't crossed half-court, that's a violation. You exceeded the 10 count.

I was thinking about the possession when they called a TO with 29 seconds, which then because of the crazy rules would have allowed them to take until 19 seconds to cross half court.

I agree, I hate that and the fact that it is legal to just throw the ball over midcourt to the other end of the court from under your basket to get it inbounds.

It's like penalizing a team for playing great defense when a timeout can bailout a team from getting the ball in the frontcourt in 10 seconds. When the timeout is over the 10 second count should resume from where it left off.

I also agree that once the ball is in your front court any inbounds play after a timeout should be restricted to the frontcourt because the front court has been fully established.

Another rule change I'd like to see would invove a delayed whistle. If an offensive player has a clear path to the basket and a defender fouls him from behind the offensive player should be allowed to proceed to the basket, finish the play with the whistle being blown after the result.
